Effective Insulation: We have a HERS (Home Energy Rating System) rater to inspect insulation at pre-drywall stage to insure insulation is installed correctly with no gaps, void, or compression, thus reducing heat transfer, and protecting home from moisture damage. This improves the durability and comfort of the home.

2. Advanced windows that reduces solar heat gain: At MC, we have installed Milguard’s SunCoat MAX® low- E glass, which provides the best clarity and highest performance of all solar gain low – E glass products. This reduces about 35% of solar heat gain over two coated low – E glass which keeps in-doors cooler in the summer and increases center glass surface temperature in the winter. It also provides 95% ultraviolet blockage for your fabrics and furnishings inside the home.

3. Tight construction and ducts: For an average home, ducts leak about 20-30%, which comprise the distribution of air and also dust, humidity, pests, and pollen leaks into the home. At MC, holes and cracks are sealed in all ductswork and is inspected with our HERS rater. This helps maintain an even temperature distribution and can help the homeowner save up to 20% on heating and cooling costs.

Other Energy Saving Features:

1. Radiant Barriers: Radiant barriers are materials that are installed in buildings to reduce summer heat gain and winter heat loss. This reduces building heating and cooling energy usage. Radiant barriers usually consist of a thin sheet or coating of a highly reflective material, usually aluminum. It is applied to one or both sides of a number of substrate materials. Studies show that radiant barriers can lower cooling costs between 5%–10% when used in a warm, sunny climate. This also reduces summer heat gain on the top floor residences compared to most multistory buildings.

2. Solar ready conduits: Homeowners at MC will have the liberty to install solar panels without worrying about breaking through drywalls for installation. Conduits from each breaker panel unit have hook up to the roof.
